DANNY Hegarty has become Boston Cricket Club’s new senior coach.
The Mayflower men’s overseas player landed the role this week after Paul Timby decided to step down from the role.
Timby made the decision last week to allow him time to concentrate on working with both the under 13s and under 15s.
“It has been difficult for Paul, trying to juggle kid’s games, training and academy week in, week out,” said captain Tom Baxter.
“Although the decision has come as a bit of a surprise, we have moved quickly and our Australian overseas player Danny Hegarty will take over a the club coach for the rest of the season.
“I would like to thank Paul for his hard work and commitment shown to the role.”
Timby took over the role from Elliott Wilson in the close season after the former List A cricketer moved away.
