BADAC fiive in World Cross-country Trials

Thursday, 10.25am - FIVE members of Boston and District Athletic Club represented Lincolnshire at the UK Inter-Counties Cross-country Championships at Birmingham.

The televised events, run over a challenging Cofton Park course, took place in dry weather with good underfoot conditions. The Boston runners gained good experience against competition at the highest level.

In the under 17 women's race over 5,000m, Chelsea Brockett and Louise Rutt produced good performances.

Chelsea recorded 23 mins 09 secs for 202nd position, with Louise one place behind, clocking 23 mins 11 secs.

Running in the under 20 women's event over 6,000m, Emma Penniston returned to competition after injury to finish 136th in a time of 31 mins 28 secs.

Aidan McClure competed in the under 17 men's 6,000m championships, claiming 257th position and recording 24 mins 24 secs.

At senior men's level, Jose Ferriera made a good contribution to the Lincolnshire team performance, crossing the line in 279th place at the end of testing 9,000m in 46mins 35 secs.
