Freiston, Leake and Leverton’s lacklustre performances continued in the South Lincs and Border league Division Two as they slumped to a six-wicket defeat against Claypole.

Batting first, they lost openers Zeeshan Saeed (16) and Ollie Booth early.

An eye catching partnership between Rob Sexton and Martin Hodgson put Freiston back on track before Sexton (36) spooned a catch to cover.

This dismissal prompted terminal collapse, as the lower order were unable to give Hodgson (34) any real support as they went for 109.

In reply, Claypole reached 115-4.

Opener Ryder struck 44 off 29 balls before becoming one of Ollie Booth’s three victims.

John Goodfellow claimed the fourth wicket.

In the Cojo’s East Lindsey League Division One, Tetford beat Freiston LL by 35 runs.

Tetford batted first, reaching 116 before being bowled out.

John Goodfellow bowled Paige for 19 before an accurate throw from Richard Paul sent Kelsey back to the pavilion without facing.

Another strike by Goodfellow ended the innings of Smith for 12, and a good catch from Connor Goodfellow gave father John his third wicket while Ashok Kumar trapped Willerton LBW for 18.

Ollie Booth claimed four wickets before the final wicket deservedly fell to Tommy Atkinson.

With the bat, Rob Sexton (14), Ashok Kumar (15,) and Ollie Booth (11) hit double figures as they were bowled out for a disappointing 81.
