Baxter scoops cricket award

Tom Baxter was named Boston Cricket Club’s Player of the Year.

The club held their end-of-season presentation night on Saturday, And it was the captain who scooped the top award.

Batsman Kieran Evans was named Young Player of the Year and Haffi Mazhar scooped the Under 16 Player of the Year title.

Other awards were: Duck Award – Charlie Ward, Highest Aggregate Runs – Tom Baxter, Most Wickets in a season – Paul Deans, Most Catches in a season – Tom Baxter, Most Wicketkeeping Dismissals – Tom Poole, Highest Individual Score – Jon Cheer (109), Best Bowling Figures – Paul Deans (6-9).

First XI awards: Batting – Tom Baxter, Bowling – Paul Deans, Fielding – Tom Baxter.

Second XI: Batting – Dave Gilding, Bowling – Sam Gilding, Fielding – Sam Major.

Third XI: Batting – Steve Elleray, Bowling – Steve Appleyard, Fielding – Tom Appleyard.

Sunday First XI: Batting – Jon Cheer, Bowling – Tom Baxter, Captain’s Award – Tom Baxter.

Sunday Second XI: Batting – Peter Mitchell, Bowling – Ben Troops, Captain’s Award – Peter Mitchell.
