Boston CC Firsts’ match against Stamford Town was called off at the 11th hour on Saturday, seeing both sides leave with eight points.

Boston remain top of the SLBL premier by 11 points.

“Of course it is disappointing not to pick up another victory against a team in the bottom four but the other teams around us only picked up eight so we are in exactly the same position,” captain Tom Baxter said.

“We are two games away from the halfway stage of the season and we set ourselves a target of being in the top three come the mid-point of the season.

“It would be great to be top and have a chance to re-assess from there.”

Boston’s Sunday Firsts earned a 69-run Lincoln and District Premier Division victory over Woodhall Spa on Sunday.

Charlie Roberts (38), Ryan Croom (32), Tom Poole (20), Ben Troops (18) and Luke Gilding (15) helped Boston post 166-8.

Spa were dismissed for 97 with Scott Elleray, Tim Bell, Tom Baxter and Luke Gilding taking two wickets apiece.

Ben Troops chipped in with a wicket and a runout.
