Boston Cricket Club may be sitting pretty at the top of the South Lincs and Border League Premier Division, but captain Tom Baxter is refusing to get carried away.
The Mayflower men topped the table for long periods of last year, before fading late on.
And with that in mind, Baxter believes it is too early to start thinking about a return to the Lincs ECB Premier.
“The position in the table is irrelevant,” he said.
“We were top at this stage last year but couldn’t stay there.
“We will start looking at the table in August and September.”
Boston stretched their 100 per cent record to three matches following Saturday’s four-wicket success at Belton Park.
They are on their travels again this Saturday as they travel to Lindum Seconds.
The Lincoln-based side are also unbeaten after playing two matches to date this year.
“Saturday will be a difficult game,” Baxter added.
“We lost there last year and they are a very organised side.
“However, if we want to finish at the top these are games we need to win.”
Boston will be without the services of Saihan Azim and Sam Gilding.
But they are hopeful of calling on Matt Poole, who missed Saturday’s 20-point victory.
“Pooley should be okay this week. He will come in for Saihan,” Baxter added.
