Tom Baxter believes that Boston Cricket Club’s Aussie invasion can only strengthen the club’s winning mentality.

Australian duo Ryan Croom and Ben Vella will arrive in town this week, ready to link-up with the Mayflower men for the rest of the South Lincs and Border League Premier Division campaign.

Croom ended 2014 in a Boston shirt, averaging 60 with the bat, and this time he is returning with reinforcements.

“They will definitely strengthen the side,” said captain Tom Baxter (pictured).

“They will bring a real quality to the team and also bring a further added winning mentality to the club.”

The duo are expected to be in action as Boston host Bourne Seconds on Saturday.

With two rounds of matches played, both sides have 100 per cent record.

Bourne have finished in the division’s top four in each of the previous three seasons, and Baxter expects more of the same.

He added: “They will be up there again this year.

“They have good, experienced cricketers that are ably supported by a set of very able and talented youngsters.”
