Boston Thirds are beaten, but all-rounder Laidlow is in form

Harry Laidlow put in a great all-round performance for Boston Cricket Club Thirds... despite the team losing to Pinchbeck Firsts by 41 runs.

Laidlow led the way for both the bowlers and the batsmen in Saturday’s South Lincs and Border League Division Two contest.

He claimed four wickets for the loss of 11 runs from his eight overs.

John Morris (3-10), Kevin Brooks (2-20) and Tom Appleyard (1-48) also dismissed opponents as Pinchbeck reached 126 before being dispatched in the 38th over.

In response, Boston could only reach 85 before they were all out.

Laidlow’s 31 led the way with William Tetther (11) the only other player to reach double figures.

Boston’s Sunday Firsts lost by eight wickets at Lindum.

The Mayflower men were dismissed for 123, with Lindum reaching 125-2 to seal victory in the Lincoln and District League Premier Division.

In Division One, the Sunday Seconds lost by nine wickets at Heighington.

Boston managed just 45 runs, with top scores coming from Oliver Thurlby (15) and Peter Moore (11) as they were all out in less than 20 overs.

Heighington reached 47 for the loss of one wicket, which fell to Nick Thurlby.

Also in Division One of the Lincoln and District League, Revesby were beaten by three wickets at home to Scothern.

Revesby posted 147-8 but Scothern replied with 148-7.
