Boston United could put out a brand-new team as Lamin Colley becomes summer recruit number 11

Dennis Greene took his summer recruitment into double figures this week with the arrivals of Christian Dibble and Lamin Colley.

Gambian striker Colley was a rival of the Pilgrims last season as he turned out for Bradford Park Avenue, alongside fellow new arrival Callum Chippendale.

The forward, who turned 23 yesterday, also has National League North experience with Stockport County.

Goalkeeper Dibble, the son of former Manchester City number one Andy, began his career on the books of Barnsley and has also made appearances for Nuneaton Town, on loan, and Chelmsford City.

The 22-year-old is the final piece of the jigsaw for United, following the departure of Fabian Spiess, who ended last season between the sticks for the Pilgrims.

“With a goalkeeper we have a complete squad,” Greene said.

“It looks like a competitive squad and we’ve got cover for every position now.”

With 11 new signings arriving at the Jakemans Stadium this summer, Boston United could quite easily field a new-look side.

Shane Clarke, back at Boston for a second stint, and Nat Brown, who ended last season on loan from Lincoln City, may be familiar faces to the United faithful.

But Colley, Chippendale, Dibble, Joe Maguire, Courtney Wildin, Herve Pepe-Ngoma, Kalern Thomas, Jason St Juste and Waide Fairhurst are all pulling on amber and black for the first time.

However, United will begin the campaign without the services of Kaine Felix.

The lightning-quick winger has joined National League York City, after receiving an offer for his first professional contract last week.

Because Felix is still 21, Boston will be entitled to compensation from the Bootham Crescent outfit.

A figure has not yet been agreed, and if the two clubs cannot come to a price they’re both happy with then the amount owed will be set by a tribunal.

Felix made 76 appearances, scoring eight times, for United over the past two seasons.
