Boston Borough Council has given its blessing to The Quadrant - signalling what could be the biggest cosmetic change to the area in a generation.

At a meeting just concluding at Haven High Academy, councillors approved plans to build a new stadium for Boston United, an adjacent sports centre, retail outlets, a supermarket and 500 homes.

The site will be located in Wyberton, either side of the A16.

The plans, put forward by Chestnut Homes and Boston United, has met with opposition from Wyberton residents.

Despite the council giving The Quadrant the thumbs up, the plans will still be sent to the secretary of state for approval.

He will choose whether to call it in or let the council’s decision stand.
