Charley Sanders wants a starting role at Boston United
Charley Sanders.
After grabbing his first Boston United goal, Charley Sanders has set his sights on a starting role.
The teenager netted the Pilgrims’ final goal in their 3-1 FA Trophy win over Colwyn Bay on Saturday.
And now he’s hungry for more.
“It’s surreal to get my first goal,” he said.
“I’m buzzing and my heart’s racing.
“But hopefully, in the mind of the gaffer, I can start some games.”
Sanders has made three first-team appearances, all from the bench, in the FA Trophy, FA Cup and Blue Square Bet North.
And now he wants some more minutes for the club, although he knows they will have to be earned.
“I’ve got to work hard now,” he added.
“I want to play for Boston and do myself proud.
“And if I get another chance like that, it’s going in.”
