Crane plans dropped

BOSTON United's hopes of signing Tony Crane are 'dead in the water'.

Manager Steve Welsh says his hopes of snapping up the 6'4" centre back have faded.

Crane has been without a club since leaving York Street in the summer, spending his time with his new-born baby.

Welsh said: "There are things going on in his private life and I can't see anything happening this season at least.

"It's dead in the water."

Keeper Chris Wright, who left the club earlier this season, has trained with the club again.

United still hold his player registration.
