Last season’s goalless draw at Wetherby Road is the only point the side have mustered in six visits.

And despite Dennis Greene’s side again showing promise in attack, goals from Dominic Knowles and Lloyd Kerry settled the contest, with Boston yet to find the net after the first two games of the National League North season.

Knowles netted three minutes before the interval, beating Christian Dibble from inside the box after getting the better of Courtney Wildin.

That lead was doubled when Kerry found the net from the edge of the penalty area in the 69th minute.

Both Dibble and opposite number Peter Crook were forced into a number of fine saves, while United went close as Waide Fairhurst and Callum Chippendale both hit the woodwork.

For Harrogate, Jordan Robertson rattled the away side’s crossbar.

Fairhurst, Wildin and Grant Roberts were drafted into the Pilgrims starting XI with Ollie Price and Lamin Colley dropping to the bench, with the injured Marcus Marshall not involved.
