The well-travelled defender is on loan with the Pilgrims from Lincoln City until the end of the season, and his manager believes his arrival at the Jakemans Stadium has played a vital role in getting the club’s promotion push back on track.

“Nat - he’s been phenomenal, hasn’t he?” Greene said of the former Wrexham, Macclesfield and Huddersfield Town centre back.

“He’s really put in some great performances for us.”

Brown’s first game for the Pilgrims was the last-gasp 2-1 defeat to North Ferriby United.

That was followed by the defeat to Brackley Town, but since then his partnership with Carl Piergianni has developed with United winning three in a row before Saturday’s draw at Harrogate.

Piergianni also flagged up the defender as playing a pivotal part in rescent results.

He added: “It’s been a pleasure, Nat’s been oustanding since he’s been here.

“He’s not put a foot wrong and he’s been talking me through everything and making sure I don’t go running off.

“We look really strong now.

“We look a good squad and a good side.”
