'The man in the middle had a part to play in all three!' Greene frustrated after Boston United play-off dream ends at Ferriby

Dennis Greene admits his Boston United side '˜never got going' in their play-off semi-final second leg - but he believes North Ferriby's victory was aided by three big officiating decisions.

The Pilgrims saw a 2-0 first-leg lead slip to a 3-2 aggregate defeat on Church Road this afternoon.

And Greene believes the match officials failed to cover themselves in glory.

After watching the BBC’s match footage he said: “I’ve just seen the penalty decision on the video with Look North and it’s never a penalty.

“The referee’s really given them a kickstart there, he gives them the belief it can be their day.

“The second, I thought, was a foul on the keeper and the third Nat Brown’s down with a head injury.

“The man in the middle had a part to play in all three and not one decision went our way, it was difficult to take.”

However, Greene also admitted that the Villagers bossed the game and were worthy winners on the day.

He continued: On the whole they were the better side today by far.

“They scored three, albeit handed on a plate by the officiating.”
