United in King duel
BOSTON United will have to fight off Gainsborough Trinity if they are to extend the loan spell of Gary King.
The 19-year-old Lincoln City striker scored three goals in his month-long spell at York Street.
Yesterday Pilgrims boss Steve Welsh was confident of extending the teenager's stay, telling The Standard: "I'm just waiting to hear from Peter Jackson (City boss) – hopefully he'll be back with us."
But it now appears that King is in the middle of a tug-of-war between United and Blue Square North outfit Trinity.
Gainsborough manager Steve Charles – a former Boston midfielder – is also reported to be interested in luring United defender Wes Parker back to the Northolme.
Charles watched both Parker and King in action when United lost 1-0 at Eastwood recently.
