'You can see the potential we've got!' Rollins believes Boston United's new squad will come good

The winger - asked to play up front in Dennis Greene’s side against Stalybridge Celtic on Saturday - and Lewis Hilliard were the only two starters who were part of last season’s squad.

Signs that this newly-assembled side, complete with 16 summer arrivals, are yet to fully gel were evident in this defeat, which was settled by Andy Owens’ 16th-minute strike.

That was one of just two notable Celtic attacks on the Boston goal, while the hosts, in stark contrast, couldn’t turn chances into goals.

However, Rollins says it is too early to throw in the towel.

“It’s only early days and we’ve got a lot of games to go,” Rollins said.

“You can see out there to potential we have got.

“We create a lot of chances and we are a good side, we’ve just got to kick on and keep going.

“It takes time to get to know each other, there are a lot of new players and you’ve got to get used to how each other plays, but it’s a good thing as well.”
