BOSTON Cricket Club’s hopes of lifting the Winkworth Cup were ended at the first hurdle on Monday.
Last year’s finalists bowed out of the Twenty20 event in the round robin stage via a bowl-off as no play was possible due to the weather.
Hosts Louth progressed at the expense of Boston and Grimsby Town.
Boston Cricket Club’s weekend action again fell foul of the weather.
In total, five planned matches did not go ahead.
On Saturday, the First XI’s Lincs ECB Premier clash against Hartsholme was a washout - meaning Tom Baxter’s side are still yet to play a competitive match in the top flight this season.
To date, all three matches have been rained off.
In the South Lincs and Border league Division Two, the Seconds’ match at home to Heckington was also cancelled, as was the Thirds’ South Lincs and Border League Division Three match.
A friendly against Freiston, Leake and Leverton also failed to go ahead.
On Sunday, the Sunday Seconds’ Lincoln and District League Division One match with Millers suffered the same fate.
Only two Premier League matches went ahead this week, Haxey earning a six-wicket success at Sleaford and Skegness beating Grimsby Town by 122 runs.
