THERE were some last-gasp turnarounds in the Boston Indoor Bowls League...

l A40 36 (2) Jolly Farmers 44 (4): FARMERS skips Joe Moore and David Allen thought they had the points in the bag against A40. Moore led 20-15 and went on to win 24-15, but Allen (20-16 up) dropped a last end count of five to go down 21-20 to Arnold Bennett.

l Carlton Road 63 (4) Woodhall 27 (2): CARLTON Road’s Chris Gill won 47-10, but Geoff Parker, 16-13 up against Woodhall’s Eileen May, Rita Epton and John Sellars, dropped a last end count of four to lose 17-16.

l Invaders 24 (0) Eastenders 44 (6): LEADERS Eastenders are still undefeated. They were pressed very hard by Invaders, but Enders skips Andrew Reeson and Paul Flatters won 22-11 and 22-13.

l Freelanders 30 (4) Cosmos 29 (2): FREELANDERS pulled off the surprise of the week’s play, defeating second-placed Cosmos. Tom Freeston, Geoff Taylor and Stan Lawrence won 15-10, but Cossies replied as skip Les Feary won 19-15.

l Royal Mail 40 (6) IBC 32 (0): ROYAL Mail beat IBC, with skips Alan Hill and Keith Thorlby successful 22-17 and 18-15.

l Holland Fen 41 (6) Stumpers 27 (0): HOLLAND Fen did not have an easy game against rock-bottom Stumpers, but skips Gary Morris and Alex Tomlin won 20-14 and 21-13.

l Kirton Town 51 (6) Strollers 27 (0): THERE was a lot of movement in the table this week - Kirton Town going top with a convincing win over Strollers. Jeff Homewood, Jill Smith and Dorothy Hawkesworth succeeded 22-10 and Ann Thomas, Sheila Tracey and Peter Tracey won 29-17.

l Swineshead 33 (2) Breakaways 35 (4): SWINESHEAD dropped to second, surprisingly defeated by Breakaways. For Swineshead, Janet Vinter, Janet Hippisley and Fred Scrupps won 19-17. For Breakaways, Jo Dowse, Henry Dowse and Pauline Richardson succeeded 18-14.

l Patriarchs 31 (0) Punchbowlers 46 (6): BOWLERS moved up to third. Cyn Bush, Malcolm McNeish and Tony Bush won 27-16 and Terry Dawson, John Allen and Ian Drury succeeded 19-17.

l Feathers 29 (0) Norprint 36 (6): THE Feathers versus Norprint game went in favour of the underdogs.

For the Printers, skips Chris Avison and Barry Barton were successful 16-15 and 20-14.

l Boston Park 25 (0) Halfpints 34 (6): THE Halfpints saw Becci Reeson, Iris Reeson and Tina Reeson triumph 18-13 and Debbie Cunningham, Craig Cunningham and Brian Sansam won 16-12.

l Golfers 25 (0) Parthians 35 (6): GOLFERS were shocked by Parthians. Maggie Van Beirendonck, Albert Batchelor and Phil Sharp won 17-8 and Mary Cowham, Pauline Atkin and Keith Nix won 18-17.

Division Three

l Crowns 48 (6) Fairways 31 (0): LEADERS Crowns beat Fairways, Graham Mulholland (20-19) and Peter Copeland (28-12) both won.

l Shipmates 35 (4) Amateurs 34 (2): AMATEURS are six points behind Crowns. Tony Nixon, Brian Martin and Barbara Bambridge won 18-17, but Shipmates’ Betty Taylor, Michael Bolsin and John Balderson replied 18-16.

l Central 34 (0) Burtons 38 (6): BURTONS earned two 19-17 scorecards for Dave Bailey and Chaz Newham.

l Traders 30 (0) Vikings 42 (6): VIKINGS’ Jenny Holmes, Ralph Sawer and Doug Staples (23-15) and Janet Loughran, Ray Loughran and Pete Jacklin (19-15) both won.

l Highflyers 23 (0) Autos 49 (6): THIRD-placed Highflyers were no match for the Autos, Norman Wright and Graham Slack winning 23-15 and 26-8.

l BBC 18 (0) Sibsey 48 (6): KATIE Tointon, Lee Archer and Charles Russell won 25-10 and Kath Dunnett, Phil Stubley and Alan Dunnett won 23-8 for Sibsey.
