If Boston Cricket Club are to return to the Lincs ECB Premier Division at the first opportunity, they will have to do so without the Cheer brothers.
Opening bowler Colin has joined top-flight Bourne as he aims to force his way back into the county side.
Meanwhile, batsman Jonny is undecided on his future, but it appears to be away from the South Lincs and Border League Division One, where Boston will compete in 2013.
On Colin’s departure, captain Tom Baxter said: “Could I really ask him to stay?
“He has shown over the past three years that he is a good Premier League bowler and his aspirations are to get himself back in that Lincolnshire side.
“I wish him all the best with Bourne and he knows that he is welcome back to Boston at any time.”
Jonny, part of the current Minor Counties squad, was the Premier League’s highest run-scorer in 2012.
Baxter added: “Jonny is still undecided on his future.
“I have had many chats with Jon over the winter, and he has a number of offers on the table at the moment.”
Boston are always looking to recruit new players, and especially now they have lost two of their biggest stars.
“I have a couple of the lads to speak to from last year, to confirm what their intentions are for the 2013 season,” Baxter added.
“But I am hopeful of being able to assemble a good side for that league.”
Boston Cricket Club will start netting on January 16 at Boston Grammar School (7-9pm).
