Boston Cricket Club captain Tom Baxter says it is vital that his First XI start the season with a victory.

On Saturday, they host Woodhall Spa Seconds - who began their South Lincs and Border League Premier Division campaign with a 46-run victory over Welby.

“Woodhall got off to a winning start on Saturday and I expect them to be a useful side in this league,” said Baxter, whose team began the year with a bye week.

“We need to get off to winning ways.

“We will be missing a couple of players, so hopefully we can pull together to find a result.”

Boston Firsts are aiming to return to the Lincs ECB Premier Division at the first attempt.
