But at Boston, where there was only one short break for rain, Louth picked up 20 points and a welcome boost up the table, while Tom Corden achieved his first ever five wicket haul for the club.

Corden’s performance helped bowl Boston out for 107 and he went on to top score with the bat, sharing an unbeaten stand of 61 with Richard Bell and ending on 35 as Louth claimed a five wicket victory.

Matt Rutherford also took a fifer in Lindum’s win over Skegness.

Steady batting down the order took the final Lindum score to 199 before the last wicket fell in the final over.

Skegness then found themselves 35 for six, Rutherford having taken five of these wickets and despite a middle order rally, the seasiders were all out for 84.

The closest game was at Grimsby Town for whom Brendan Volley and Lee Charlton joined forces at 64 for four to share a fifth wicket stand of 84.

Charlton went on to make 56 as the innings closed on 180 for nine, Joe Irving taking five wickets for Woodhall Spa who got off to a better start and at 153 for four were on their way to victory with Ross Dixon and Irving, who had put on 58, looking settled.

But Jack Harrison celebrated his return to the Grimsby bowling attack by dismissing both and Charlton took two more to reduce the visitors to 165 for eight before Tom Caswell and Mark Irving dug in to take Woodhall to their target.

At Sleaford, Nettleham celebrated getting prolific run scorer Obus Pienaar out for eight, only to come up against Ollie Burford who hit 108 off 106 balls with 17 fours and a six.

Shaun Morris made an unbeaten 50 in a partnership of 99 with Burford which took their side to 232 for six in the 47th over but here the weather intervened and no further play was possible.

It was the same story at Grantham where Paul Cook was out for 99 in Bracebridge Heath’s total of 148, Joe Peck taking five wickets.

Grantham had reached 89 for three when rain stopped play for the day.

And less than an innings was possible at Bourne who were 111 for six when the game against Market Deeping was ended by the weather.

These results saw Sleaford stay top of the table while Lindum moved into equal second place with Market Deeping.
