Luke Gilding named a changed XI, with only four players that had played in the previous week’s victory against Billingbourgh in the side due to a series of unavailabilities.

Boston were inserted onto a wet wicket with opener Rob Grant expertly caught at mid-wicket in the fifth over.

David Gilding tried to bat through some early difficult conditions but succumbed to England over 60s player Nick Andrews with a nifty piece of bowling.

This brought together the partnership of Damian Lawson and captain Luke Gilding, the duo putting on a 50-run partnership before Lawson fell on 45.

This exposed Boston’s soft underbelly with remaining batsmen falling swiftly.

The final five Boston wickets were taken for just eight runs to give Boston the total of 132.

After tea, Deeping openers Richard Witt and Ryan Bainbourgh faced up against the Boston opening pairing of Michael Troops and Daniel Lumley.

Although runs didn’t come quickly, Boston didn’t make the early breakthrough that they had hoped for.

The wicket did eventually come when Michael Troops trapped batsman Ryan Bainbourgh LBW.

However, Ryan Hyman arrived at the crease and no further dismissals came.

This meant that Deeping went on to win by nine wickets.
