Boston Cricket Club’s Second XI suffered a 123-run defeat at home to Thomas Cook Firsts on Saturday.
After the visitors opted to bat in this South Lincs and Border League Division One match, Boston began strongly with Kev Brooks dismissing both openers, Easwaran Shanmugan for a duck and Arvind Sundar for four.
But the arrival of Vinit Shah saw him settle things down, scoring 69 before he was caught by Oliver Thurlby off Gareth Epton.
Boston’s bowlers did a good job, dismissing Thomas Cook for 157 in the final over.
Apart from Shah, Sam Spears (41), Arshad Majeed (11) and Vidit Matta (10) were the only others to reach double figures.
Brooks, Epton and Charlie Ward claimed three wickets apiece, with Thurlby chipping in with one.
But with the bat, Boston fell well short - being dismissed for 34 within the 17th over.
Louis Goulder top scored with nine, as Joe Dobson took six wickets.
Boston Sunday Firsts conceded their Lincoln Premier Division match at Cherry Willingham this weekend.
