Boston Cricket Club’s Second XI were beaten by 45 runs at Billingborough Seconds on Saturday.
The hosts reached 201 runs before they were bowled out in this South Lincs and Border League Division One contest.
However, Boston could only muster 156 runs before they were dismissed.
The Mayflower men’s Third XI were also beaten, suffering a heavy 214-run loss at home to Grantham Thirds.
Boston won the toss and put Grantham into bat.
However, the away side posted a total of 271-7 following their 45 overs, with good scores coming from Tim Mihill (79) and Danny Ashley (66).
Jack Tetther led the way for the Boston bowlers, taking three wickets for the loss of 81 runs.
Harry Laidlow (2-35) claimed two victims while further wickets fell to Sam Holland (1-15) and Peter Ward (1-23).
Boston’s innings didn’t begin well, with both William Tetther and Jack Lawrence being dismissed in the opening over.
Boston posted 57 runs before being dismissed in the 24th over.
Sean Barnett top scored for Boston with 14 runs.
Scott Gray (11), Sam Holland (10) and Laidlow (12 not out) also reaached double figures.
On Saturday the Seconds are away at Friskney, while the Thirds also hit the road, travelling to face Belton Park.
Boston’s Sunday Firsts are at Middle Rasen a day later, with the Sunday Seconds hosting Scothern in Lincoln League action.
