Evans hits 41 runs in Boston Seconds’ defeat

Boston Cricket Club’s Second XI were beaten by six wickets when they hosted Grantham Seconds on Saturday.

Rowan Evans hit 41 runs while Tom Poole chipped in with 14 as the hosts reached 122 runs before being dismissed in the 40th over of this South Lincolnshire and Border League Division One match.

In response, Grantham claimed victory in the 27th over.

They reached 124 runs for the loss of four wickets.

Alex Kettle grabbed an unbeaten 42 for the away side, backed up bu DannyBates (24 not out) and Tim Mihill (33).

John Morris claimed two of the Grantham wickets for the loss of 24 runs.

Jack Tetther also dismissed a victim.

Boston Thirds won their South Lincs and Border League Division Two match at Timberlands.

The hosts were dismissed for 84 runs.

In response, Boston reached 88 for the loss of four wickets.

Boston Sunday Firsts were beaten by six wickets in the Lincoln and District League Premier Division.

They posted 203-5 thanks to runs from Kieran Evans (77), Tom Baxter (58), Matthew Hood (24) and Luke Gilding (17).

Sleaford responded with 204-4, despite wickets taken by Scott Elleray (1-44), Tim Bell (1-13) and Matthew Poole (1-37).
