Boston Cricket Club Firsts need to win four of their five remaining matches to claim the South Lincs and Border League Premier Division title.

And their quest for promotion to the Lincs ECB Premier continues with the side desperate to settle a score.

On Saturday the Mayflower men host Billingborough Seconds, the only side to have beaten them so far this year.

Boston will welcome back Australian Ben Vella (pictured) from holiday, but captain Tom Baxter may still be missing due to injury.

“I don’t think I will be ready for Saturday but I am sure that we will be well up for it,” Baxter said.

“I will be gutted to miss out but it’s one of those things, you cannot do anything about it.”

If Baxter is unavailable, Dave Newman will continue to captain the side, as he did during the weekend’s victory against second-placed Woodhall Spa Seconds.

That success saw the Firsts open up a 41-point lead at the top of the table.

The contest will also see Newman go head to head with his former club.

The match sponsor for this game is Old Leake’s Charles Wright and Sons Ltd.
