Boston Town are on the brink of signing attacking midfielder Alec Robinson.

The Poachers made a seven-day approach for the Bourne Town player, who has agreed to step up from the United Counties League Division One.

However, the Poachers appear resigned to losing Matt Barber.

Barber has scored a series of important goals for Town this campaign, but the Peterborough-based player could be swayed to move to Yaxley after they put in seven days for him.

“It looks like he’ll probably go to Yaxley,” manager Ian Dunn told The Standard.

Barber turned down an approach from his former club Deeping Rangers earlier in the campaign.

Town finished 2012 with back-to-back victories, beating Sleaford Town and Long Buckby.
