Boston Town turned the UCL Premier upside down as they recorded a stunning 2-1 victory at the expense of in-form AFC Rushden and Diamonds.
Goals from Josh Ford and Paul Goodhand were enough to sink the visitors, who had ended Spalding United’s 17-game winning start to the campaign just seven days earlier.
Prior to kick off, Town boss Nathan Collins claimed his side could cause Rushden ‘a few problems’.
And that was the case on the half-hour mark when Ford found the net following Daryl Clare’s free kick.
Alex Deakin drew the Diamonds level after the break, but the Poachers earned three points when Ford latched on to a sloppy back p-ass.
The striker squared to Goodhand, who netted to earn a vital victory, which ended the Diamonds’ eight-game winning sequence in the league.
The win sees Boston remain in 15th, while Rushden are fourth in the table.
Town host Sleaford Town on Boxing Day (KO 3pm).
