Jack Wightwick scored a hat-trick as Boston Town earned their first win of the season - thumping Harrowby United 5-0 in the UCL Knockout Cup.

Jordan Smith also impressed on his debut, putting the Poachers 1-0 up in the fifth minute.

Smith also struck the woodwork twice while Fraser Bayliss added to the scoreline.

Darren Bevan, in charge of team affairs for the night, was able to bring on three of his young Development Squad players - Tyler Freeman-Burdass, Connor Eyes and George Bevan - as Boston cruised towards a second round tie against Holbeach.

Harrowby’s hopes of a consolation were denied as James Lambley pulled off a late penalty save.
