Boston Town are hoping to get two new signings in place before their double-header with Long Buckby.

The Poachers host the Bucks at Tattershall Road on Saturday (KO 3pm), before travelling to Station Road to face the same oppone nts seven days later.

“Hopefully, we’ll have a couple of new players in before we play Buckby,” Dunn told The Standard.

“I’m not wiling to really say anymore as we’ve had no luck bringing players in recently.

“But we’ve made two or three approaches.”

Sleaford Town forward Liam Tunstall has turned down Town’s advances, opting to stay with Glenn Maddison’s squad.

However, Dunn remains hopeful he and joint boss Matt Hocking can find the winning combination as soon as possible.

He continued: “We truly believe we are a couple of players away from being a good side, a good top-six side.

“And one of those positions we need to fill is a goalscorer.

“Every club wants a 25 or 30 goals-per-season forward, but at this level they cost money.

“We’ll keep on looking.”

Saturday’s clash with Newport Pagnell was postponed as the Swans’ pitch was waterlogged.

Before that, Town suffered a 4-0 defeat at home to United Counties League Premier derby rivals Holbeach United in midweek.

Town faced Lincolnshire rivals Sleaford on Boxing Day, in match that saw them face off against recent target Liam Tunstall.
