Boston Town look for county revenge against Blackstones

BOSTON Town face county rivals Blackstones in Lincs Senior Trophy action tonight (Wednesday) - hoping to avenge their league defeat.

The Poachers lost out 1-0 at Lincoln Road earlier this month when the two rivals met in the United Counties League Premier Division.

And after a run of three narrow defeats, Town are looking to get their season back on track tonight (KO 7.45pm).

Following a weekend without a fixture, Manager Martyn Lakin hopes his refreshed side can return to winning ways.

“It’s a cup competition and a chance to focus on something else,” he said.

“I honestly feel that we’re very close to turning things around.”

The winners of tonight’s fixture will face Holbeach United next month, the side Town lost 3-2 to in midweek.

On Saturday, the Poachers host Howell Sports in the FA Vase at Tattershall Road (KO 3pm).

“The Vase is another competition we want to do well in,” Lakin added.
