Boston Town are looking to pick up their first UCL Premier victory of the season at Yaxley tonight.

The Poachers travel to face Brett Whaley’s Cuckoos at Leading Drove (KO 7.45pm), planning to build upon the point they picked up at AFC Kempston Rovers on Saturday.

But they face a side who have won their opening two matches of the season.

“Yaxley have signed some good players and they’ll be one of the sides in the upper echelons of the table at the end of the season,” said Town joint boss Ian Dunn.

“We expect a very tough game. We’ll be away from home against a very good side.”

The two opponents have had contrasting starts to the season, with Dunn and Matt Hocking’s men losing to Cogenhoe United (3-1) and Spalding United (3-0).

In contrast, the Cuckoos kicked off with victories over Stewarts and Lloyds Corby (4-1) and Newport Pagnell Town (3-2).

However, their last contest saw them knocked out of the FA Cup 3-0 by league rivals Peterborough Northern Star.

Ollie Pinner, Ollie Maltby and Mark Thompson will all be available for Boston Town after missing Saturday’s draw at Kempston.

A date has been set for Boston’s Lincs Senior Trophy tie.

They will travel to Spalding on Tuesday, September 24.
