Boston Town boss Ian Dunn was one of the few managers in the game who didn’t mind a number of today’s fixtures being postponed.
His side were set to travel to face Newport Pagnell Town in the UCL Premier.
But when he got wind the clash wouldn’t go ahead due to a waterlogged pitch, he saw it as a blessing in disguise.
“To be honest, we were quite pleased it was off,” Dunn told The Standard.
“we had as many as five lads unavailable from the midweek game against Holbeach.
“That was due to injuries and people being unavailable.
“At 11am, we were going down there with just 13 players.”
Town now travel to face Sleaford Town on Boxing Day (KO 3pm).
