Boston Town have signed up left back Lawrence Heward from Cleethorpes Town.

The Poachers swooped to sign the Grimsby Town youth product after Jason Field left to join Boston United.

Heward has his own links with the Pilgrims, being the grandson of former United manager Don Donovan.

Heward has also played for Brigg Town and manager Ian Dunn rates him highly.

He told The Standard: “We’ve been looking to fill the void left by Jason.

“Lawrence is the ideal replacement.

“He can play anywhere along the back four and has a good left foot.”

Heward will be in the squad for tomorrow night’s UCL Premier visit of Wellingborough Town.
