Boston Town boss Ian Dunn believes striker Liam Tunstall is the answer to his side picking up more points.
Town drew 1-1 at Yaxley on Saturday, with chances again going begging.
The Poachers have approached the Sleaford forward, hoping he will make a UCL Premier switch.
Dunn told The Standard this evening: “Had positive talks with Liam tonight.
“I hope he comes, I can really see him scoring a lot of goals for us.
“I believe he is the missing piece of the jigsaw.”
Matt Barber netted for Boston Town as they came from behind to draw with Yaxley.
The Cuckoos opened the scoring from a close-range finish following a free kick.
But Barber earned the Poachers a point, slipping the ball under Aaron Butcher inside the Yaxley penalty area.
“It’s the same old story,” said Dunn.
“We had chances and we didn’t take them.
“We hit the bar twice and Aaron Butcher made a few good saves as well.
“That’s how it’s going at the minute for us.”
Lincoln City youngsters Ryan Leggett and Matt Cotton made their Town debuts.
