Boston United and Swineshead Institute kick off Lincs League campaigns

BOSTON’S two Lincs League sides are preparing to go head-to-head this week.

The Sills & Betteridge Lincolnshire League kicks off this weekend.

Boston United Reserves will be looking to retain the title they lifted last season, while Swineshead Institute will be looking to improve on last season’s impressive fourth-place finish.

United kick off their campaign on Friday (KO 7.45pm) at last season’s runners-up Lincoln United Reserves.

Swineshead start their season on Saturday at home to newly-formed Skegness United (3pm), who have former Pilgrims Joby Gowshall and Paul Watts in their squad.

Swineshead and United Reserves then meet one another on Tuesday, at Institute’s Causeway Ground (6.30pm).

Last season, Instute won the corresponding fixture 3-2.

A brace from Jack Houghton and Mark Sharman’s strike settled the score, while Mickey Stones and Jason Field netted for the Pilgrims.
