Liam Agnew’s spell with Boston United is over.
The Sunderland midfielder’s work experience stay with the club was completed following the Pilgrims’ final game of the Skrill North season, the 3-0 defeat at Worcester.
“I’m grateful to Boston for giving me my first taste of the man’s game, I’ve learned a lot,” said 19-year-old Agnew, who has agreed a two-year professional deal with the Black Cats.
“Whether I’m with Sunderland, on loan somewhere else or back at Boston next season, I’ll always give 100 per cent for my team.”
Agnew - one of three Sunderland players to have a spell at Boston this season - made 18 appearances for the Pilgrims, scoring twice, as well as featuring on the Black Cats’ bench.
