ON SATURDAY, Ryan Semple declared he felt as fit as ever... and last night the Boston United winger proved he hasn’t lost his touch either.
Semple was drafted into action for the Pilgrims reserves, grabbing two fine finishes to help his side record a 3-1 victory over Skegness Town.
The attacker was involved in United’s first goal, teeing up youngster Mitch Eustace.
He then stole the show, finishing with a tight-angled drive, before finding the net with a cheeky 25-yard lob.
“It’s been two-and-a-half months since I last played, and it’s great to be back,” said Semple after Saturday’s substitute appearance, following his long-standing knee injury.
“As a footballer, being injured is the worst thing in the world.
“But I’ve felt better than I can remember this week.”
Skegness grabbed a late goal as Scott Dawson turned into his own net.
