BOSTON SATURDAY LEAGUE: Swineshead set the early pace

Swineshead kicked off their Boston Saturday League season with a 3-0 victory at newly-promoted Ruskington Rovers in the Taylors Garages Premier Division.

Spilsby Town got off to the perfect start with a 3-2 away win at Billinghay Athletic.

In the Taylors Peugeot Division One, Fosdyke defeated Sleaford Colts as Dan Sansam and Martyn Patterson both found the net in a 2-1 success.

Skegness United Reserves have withdrawn their team from Division One.

In the Taylors Ford Division Two, promoted FC Kirton found it tough going in their opening home match against Westside Rangers.

The new boys went down 3-0 thanks to two goals from Tom Ruck, while Lewis Trevor was also on target.

Referee Matt Jackson had the uneviable task of trying to control the match between Nelson and Spalding Harriers at Rosebery Avenue as tempers flared.

The match official sent off four of the Spalding players before their management team decided to enter the field of play and the official had no alternative but to abandon the match after 75 minutes.

Nelson were leading 3-1 following goals from Liam Shinn (two) and Curtis Yeatman.

Friskney Reserves and Boston Athletic met in the Taylors Vauxhall Division Three, with Friskney winning 3-1 thanks to Greg Brown, Craig Thacker and Ross Clow.

Benington Reserves drew 3-3 at Railway Athletic, with Joe Wood, Gavin Bell and Lewis Mundt on target for Benington.

Eastern European FC beat Spalding Harriers Reserves 2-0.
