Dennis Greene believes his Boston United squad are good enough to win the FA Trophy.

The Pilgrims will kick off their trophy trail on Saturday when they host Evo-Stik Premier side Workington at the Jakemans Stadium (KO 3pm) in the third qualifying round.

And the Boston manager is refusing to rule out a day out at Wembley, or at least claiming a decent scalp on the journey.

“It’s a competition we can go all the way in, potentially,” he said.

“On our day we can beat anybody.

“If we draw a big-hitter, like a top five in the National Conference, these guys don’t take it seriously initially, not until later in the rounds.

“There is a chance of beating a big club, but on our day we can beat anybody.”

Greene is happy with the draw against lower-league opponents, but he isn’t counting any chickens just yet.

He added: “The last five games have been uplifting, we look really hard to beat.

“It’s a good draw on paper, but you just need all the elements to go your way.

“You need that bit of luck with you.

“You can’t just say we’re a better side, we could get two injuries in the first 10 minutes.”
