Carl Piergianni says Boston United believe they can win the Skrill North title.

With the Pilgrims currently sitting fourth in the league standings, three points behind leaders North Ferriby United, the Pilgrims defender reckons his side have every chance of forcing their way to the top of the pile.

“Our target is to win the league, but we want to stay in the play-offs, definitely,” Piergianni told The Standard.

“There’s a long way to go yet, but hopefully we can cement ourselves (in the top five) and keep pressing higher up the league.”

Of course, there is no harm in thinking big.

However, Piergianni knows that the United squad must not underestimate any opponent.

He added: “As a squad we like to keep our feet on the ground, but we know we can beat anyone on our day.

“(Winning the league is) the target but we just want to get up there and keep winning games, then you never know what can happen.”
