The action now starts to come thick and fast for Boston United.

The Pilgrims will be involved in a hat-trick of pre-season friendlies this week, as Dennis Greene looks to get his squad match fit and cast an eye over a handful of hopeful trialists.

Today (Thursday) could see Boston come face-to-face with defender Nathan Stainfield, who quit the club for UCL Premier side Spalding United.

Lee Canoville, Jamie Stevens, Dan Cotton and Chris Hall are among the ex-Pilgrims who could also be in contention to turn out for the Tulips at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field (KO 7.45pm).

United will then return to action on Saturday as they host a Leeds United XI in one of their most eagerly-anticipated warm-up matches of the summer.

Neil Redfearn - a fan favourite during his player-assistant manager time at York Street - is currently the Whites’ first team coach and development squad manager, and he has agreed to bring a team to his old stomping ground.

“They will bring good sides and they’ll be a test for our lads,” said Greene.

“They’ll get them running about a bit.”

Kick off for the contest wil be at 3pm.

Then, completing this week’s trio of matches, United will host Conference Premier Cambridge United on Tuesday (KO 7.45pm).
