Liam Agnew says that scoring his first Boston United goal was an ‘unbelievable’ feeling.
The teenager timed his run perfectly before sweeping home Marc Newsham’s perfectly-weighted pass to kill off the contest as Boston United beat Hednesford 4-0 on Saturday.
“It was an unbelievable feeling,” Agnew said.
“I’ve been working a lot on getting forward and timing my runs. It’s been coming.
“I’ve been getting into some great areas but the ball just hasn’t dropped for me.
“But it was my time and a great time to score.”
The on-loan Sunderland midfielder may have perfected his scoring technique, but his goal celebrations may still need a bit of work.
Admitting he didn’t quite know how to celebrate, Agnew added:“I didn’t know where to run.
“I didn’t know whether to run to the gaffer or my family who were in the crowd supporting me.
“In the end I just ran to the side with the fans.”
