BOSTON United have sured up their defence - by snapping up two full backs from county rivals Gainsborough Trinity

Right-back Darren Williams and left-back Mark Robinson have both penned one-month loan spells and could be in contention to feature in tonight’s Blue Square Bet North clash at Stalybridge Celtic (KO 7.45pm).

The signatures come as Boston are suffering a player shortage.

Defencers Kieran Murphy and Gareth Jelleyman are not match fit, while fellow stoppers Simon Ashton (on loan at Stamford) and Rory Coleman (returned to Scunthorpe) are unavailable.

Williams, 33, has made his name during spells with the likes of Sunderland, Hartlepool United, Bradford City and Dundee.

Robinson, 29, has been a regular for the likes of Hartlepool, Hereford United, Stockport County and York City over the years.
