MARK Jones is desperate to get back into the Boston United starting XI.
The striker has been sidelined for the past three matches since he picked up an ankle injury during the 3-1 defeat to Workington.
But now the Pilgrims striker should be fit for Saturday’s FA Cup clash against Kettering Town.
He may have to work hard to get his place back immediately, with Marc Newsham and Spencer Weir-Daley both in form and Ben Fairclough and Korey Dyer-Stewart both eager to play.
However, the forward, who has vowed to net 20 times this season, believes the Pilgrims strikers can find the net between them.
He said: “If you keep plucking away and creating chances you are always going to score.
“We’re a confident bunch.”
To date, Jones’ three goals in the Blue Square Bet North all came in the 6-0 demolition of Histon.
He also bagged twice in the Lincs Senior Shield against Lincoln United.
With five goals to his credit, he is joint-second in the United scoring charts, level with Weir-Daley.
Marc Newsham has eight competitive goals to his name so far this season.
