Boston United have set their sights firmly on winning the Vanarama North, says Conor Marshall.
The midfielder told The Standard that he is determined to help the Pilgrims return to non-league’s top tier.
“Our main point is to finish top of the league,” he said.
“We’re in and around there at the moment, so if we keep getting points on the board and wins under our belt I can’t see why we won’t be there towards the end of the season.”
While Boston flirted with the play-off spots last season, Marshall reckons that United have all the ingredients to consolidate a top-five finish and then, he hopes, push on for the title.
“Last year we were in and around there all season, but I think this year we’ll be one of the teams up there pushing for first or second,” added Marshall, who returned to the Pilgrims starting line-up for Saturday’s victory at Bradford Park Avenue.
“With the team we’ve got now we’ve got a lot more depth.
“I think we’ve got the team to do that.”
