Jason Stokes believes Boston United have every chance of emulating the class of 85 - and reaching Wembley.

On Saturday, the Pilgrims host Skelmersdale in the first round of the FA Trophy (KO 3pm).

And the ever-confident winger refuses to rule out his side going all the way to reach the final.

“Hopefully, we can get to Wembley,” he said. “Of course it is possible, why not? Anything can happen.”

To do so, the Pilgrims may have to get past a handful of Blue Square Bet Premier sides. But first they have to overcome the tricky obstacle of Evo-Stik North Division One side, the Skem.

Before last night’s league clash against Salford, unbeaten Skelmersdale had won 11 of their 12 league matches, drawing the other.

United reached the Trophy final at Wembley in 1985, losing 2-1 to Wealdstone, with Chris Cook scoring.
