Rene Steer hopes he will be returning to a well-placed Boston United squad.
The former Arsenal trainee will be suspended for Saturday’s clash at Barrow and the following weekend’s home match against Gloucester City, after picking up his 10th yellow card of the season at Workington.
But Steer is backing his teammates to do the business on the pitch while he watches from the sidelines.
“I don’t want to miss any game so I’m definitely disappointed to miss the games,” he told The Standard.
“Every time I get a yellow card I feel as if it’s my first (offence) and I’m getting penalised for it.
“Hopefully, I can get back in contention (when my suspension is over).
“Hopefully, by then the club will be back in the play-offs and we can kick on from there.”
Steer has recently been deployed on the right fank, something he is happy with.
He added: “I’m comfortable either way.
“Coming in, maybe I can get a few more shots off now and score a few goals.”
