Easy ride for Boston keeps promotion hopes on track

BOSTON United enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 victory over Hinckley United on Tueday evening to stay within reach of the automatic promotion places in Blue Square Bet North.

An own goal from Callum Burgess set United on their way with Mikel Suarez adding the second on 31 minutes after visiting keeper Nathan Thackeray hesitated.

Goal machine Spencer Weir-Daley made it three on 61 minutes - the fifth consecutive appearance in which he has scored.

The win hoists the Pilgrims 10 points clear of sixth-placed Droylsden, although United have played two more games.

On-loan Scunthorpe United left-back Rory Coleman was handed his debut with Gareth Jelleyman missing through injury, while Jamie Yates was preferred to Nathan Koranteng from the start.
